Post Word Descriptor List Problem
Hello. I am still using the word descriptor list. I have noticed that as I glance at the sheet between writing words, my eyes seem to lock on the first word that I see. No matter what other words I scan, the first word I see always seems to be the one the unconscious selects over all others. Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal?

For the next couple days, take a break from doing sessions, and, instead, spend all your free time memorizing the word descriptor list!

Starting Monday, you are only allowed to look at your descriptor list before your session (during your session, it must be "stowed").

Okay. I'll do this. But my memory is not the best so it probably will not be perfect. It may take weeks for me to memorize all those words!

Keegan,

Here's something that helped me. I spent some time every day for a few weeks just copying out the word lists. I figured I already knew most of the words, what I needed was practice writing them, so I didn't have to think about writing them. Then I kept a dictionary handy and looked up anything I didn't quite comprehend ( like beige ).

Great idea Chartless! I'll give it a try this weekend. Thanks.

Don't under-estimate the story Ed tells of Ingo Swan making him walk around NY City and touch and describe anything that Ingo pointed at. Practice describing what you see. That will force your vocabulary to expand. And you can play around with the Mirriam-Webster Thesaurus at http://www.M-W.com when you get stuck trying to figure out a new and different word for a particular word that you are stuck on. (Obviously not during a session!)

As for the eye thing, is it really just the first word your eyes see? Or is it the Matrix guiding your eyes to that word? And if it's the latter (as I expect) you are really limiting what you can discover in your sessions.

As well as you are doing (and that's very well), try to break away from the list and turn your unconcious loose. Let the training wheels fall away...

Thank you B-Man for the words of wisdom. They are greatly appreciated.
