Post Oh Cr*p those darn drapes
A bit of a frustration/vent from a learner....

Finished DVD3 spend 2-3 weeks and about 20 sessions practicing and absolutely no hits. I was getting a bit down about it. Just keep practicing and you'll get there !! I thought I could at least have been close sometimes but I was so far off it was crazy on every session.

I decided that because I was more successful in the earlier DVDs I would go back to the templates and start from scratch again.

So I printed the templates and placed them ready for a session. I lent back on my chair and glanced up.. WTF !!!. There are my S3 Sketches on the drapes.. What? I never look at them during a session.

I know you’re supposed to remove items from your desk, no other sessions or distractions. I hadn’t even taken notice of my Drapes and never consciously looked at them except to close them before a session so I was not distracted by passing vehicles.

So I temporarily converted the drapes with a mono coloured bed sheet and wham, 2 days in a row I contacted with the targets (next day’s newspaper photo cue)

So now its today's job to make this room as inert as possible..

Phew!, what a learning curve for something so simple..

Here are examples from the drapes and my S3’s… Seems funny now but was very frustrating while trying to learn.

Subliminal interference is part of the gauntlet the viewer must contend with while running a session. Fantastic example. Those darn drapes indeed.

Thanks indeed for sharing the example. I would like to add from own experience that this extends way beyond the sensory and dimensional categories. To be able to accurately capture emotions, intangibles, etc. you must be at peace with your life and your environment. Any kind of stress you're unable to do away with will hog your attention and kill your ability to focus and reach that precious theta state, or if you do, creep into your results.

I also found out that a clean working area is essential. i had so many things on my desk and that was all I could see. I actually found myself getting angry during a session because my focus wasn't on my RV, but on things right before me! A very good lesson.

If, during a session, you find yourself becoming angry, frustrated, etc., then you are THINKING, DAMNIT! In both my workshops and private training sessions, I beat my students severely about the head and shoulders when I espy this RV structure fault.

RV is a robotic skill. Robots are objective. Thus, their data can be trusted.

DUMP/OBJECTIFY THOSE d*** AI's AND/OR PI's LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO! NO MORE EXCUSES -- DO YOUR WORK; GET THE JOB DONE!!

Are PI's personal impact? I've never heard that term before.
