 When to drop pen? AI/AOL?
Hi Folks,
I am retraining myself in RV after a multi-year break. I'm pretty clear on everything, except when to drop my pen.
1. Do I drop my pen after AI at the end of S2? 2. Do I drop my pen after every AI in S4?
(Yes, I do remember that we drop the pen after AOL).
3. Also, in S4, do I probe the AOL/s column with my pen? Or do I only go there if I get a high-level idea?
Thanks for the refresher and I hope to be a regular contributor one day again.

Re: When to drop pen? AI/AOL?
welcome back to the fold my friend,
1) Yes at the end, but also at any other time you feel emotion bubbling up within you. The AI pen drop acts as a dissipation technique, and can be used at any stage of the protocol if you feel that an emotional quality is charging up into your conscious awareness.
2) Yes, also see above
3) As for AOL/s, I usually stay away from the column until it is abundantly clear that it is something like _____. Be weary and probe there only as a last resort.
If you find yourself having a hard time getting any kind of tangible or intangible perceptions, after establishing the standard 7-10 descriptors in S & D columns, and have been probing all of the columns most of the page down; I will sub-vocalize: "what is this like?" just before probing that column. Be aware at that point in the stage the probing of that column will saturate very quickly, and you're already on unstable ground with it being Analytical Overlay of the Signal Line. Remember, don't hang your hat on that perception during analysis.
Welcome back guy..
