Post End DVD1, pacticing questions. Translate sensory data
Hello,
Finished DVD1 and on my 3rd day,3 TRNs practiced and dont seem to be even close :)

Hopefully someone can assist with a couple of questions or point me to forum posts. I will go back and watch the DVD1 again to make sure I didn't miss any items while I complete the 7 days practice targets.

I'm struggling to get many descriptor words at all for S2 and S2(x),s2(a),s2(b)

1. Am I able to translate a feeling to say a Colour?. For example if 'bold' comes to mind and I think that means "Red" can I use that for the Colour? (Yes, provided I am up to the Colour field). Or when I am on temperature I came up with 'toned' so I put 'mild" (actually mild is not in the descriptor list so I should put 'warm'). At this early stage I'm struggling to get many sensory descriptor words at all.

2. When completing Stage 4 of say [a] should I keep the first page of [a] (i.e. the Stage 1/2/3) visible and refer to this or turn it over so I cant see it while completing stage 4 of [ ].

3. Is the descriptor list definitive? or can you use additional colours, temperatures. I guess I have a different set of descriptor words in my vocabulary from my career.

Thanks for any input.

Best Regards, Happy new year
Jas

Typical neophyte responses/good questions re. the LearnRV skill.

The (ever growing) bank of RV pros-cum-RV teachers will set you straight.

I wish for you -- and others like yourself -- to ultimately join our ranks and assist in the evolution of this powerful mind tool.

Hi Jas,

Yes, definitely review DVD 1. You'll also need to start posting your sessions so we can see your work and help correct any structural errors. This is very important.

As for perceiving descriptors, remember, we are interrogating the signal line. Vocalizing or sub-vocalizing in-session may help, beginning each category by stating what it is you're looking for, eg. textures, colours, etc. and vocalizing each percept as you objectify it.

1. No - a colour is a colour is a colour. Same goes for every other category.

2. Leaving previous pages face-up is fine, but DO NOT refer back to them for S4 data. The only times we refer back to any previously generated session data is when translating S3 [aspect] dimension words into an analytical sketch, and while constructing a site template.

3. No, the descriptor word list isn't all-inclusive, but it does represent about 80% of the most common descriptor words that would be found in most RV sessions. It is recommended that you generally stick to what's listed there until you have mastered the fundamentals of RV. Committing this list to memory is also very important.

Bottom line - stick to the DVD instructions rigidly and post your work for review.

And yes, happy new year!

Hi, Thank you for the prompt replies. Back to review DVD1 today and another practice session (using RVRobots bootcamp TRNs).

I'll look around the forum for instructions on how to post sessions.

Best Regards
Jas

1. Scan your sessions.
2. Upload them to your photobucket.com account.
3. Copy and paste the appropriate image links from photobucket into your forum posts.
