Note: This case hit's a sensitive chord with Major Doom, to wit: I have always wanted a daughter; would have filed papers to adopt 'wayward' Serenity if I knew about her, and (by God) would still do so if I find her alive and can rescue her.

If my work determines that someone has hurt or killed her, and that she did not simply freeze to death in her 'escape attempt,' then I swear that I will - personally - be coming after that responsible entity to avenge her and me (i.e., what she means to me in my mind) - no matter what it takes. (At my age, 'prison time' does/would not serve as an effective deterrent for any 'irrational' acts potentially committed on my part).
