Post Re: [3926 / 7584]
Welcome to the boards Romovi! I am a beginner myself and would not be much help to anyone, but I do know what the experienced RV'ers and teachers on this forum will tell you - post your session! If they can see what you are doing in session, they will make suggestions to help you improve.

Does that TRN refer to a practice target in this thread or is it on the DVD set?

If the help you need is of another nature, you probably need to explain your problem in more detail.

Shales-Thank you for responding. I thought that this particular discussion board might be the appropriate place to post this. Anyway, it is neither from the DVD or from another part of this thread. I'm trying to keep this blind without going into too much detail. I do need location! Thanks!

That isn't how this subforum works.

It is not for operational targets.

Uncle. I give up.

I was trying to find a lost DVD. I've looked everywhere-home, car, bushes, behind furniture etc.

Well, blow me down, man, that's most likely an easy one -- why didn't you just say so!

Would you mind posting the cue? Since the "cat is out of the bag" it can't hurt now.

How was the cue set up?

"BBC-Bleak House" DVD case/Location/current time/(barcode #)

I put the barcode number because there are two others floating around with different barcodes.

That cue needs work, which is precisely why newbies typically have a hard time getting blind work done around here.

I was afraid of that

The Major addressed a similar question here: http://www.rvcommunity.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3088&p=21276&hilit=missing+object#p21276

So as applied to this I say it should be (assuming you are actually looking for the disc and not the case, and using a fresh TRN from learnrv.com):

2862/2103 Romovi/Missing Bleak House DVD/location now

I selected this trn, before opening the page, to practice the RV process (post DVD 1) as suggested before proceeding to DVD2. I've attached the results below. As mentioned, I'm still a beginning student but (in the spirit of this web site area) will welcome any comments regarding technique.

Romovi, this probably doesn't fulfill your needs but there will probably be more data coming from folks who actually know what they are doing :)

Thanks!

It is the case with the three discs that are missing.

Jburn-

It looks like from your drawings that it could be a dump or recycling center.

Ieeee! Too much information!

I prefer completely blind targets, but don't mind front-loaded (where I know the cue but don't have an idea of the answer), but I would rather not have known details about Jburn's session before running mine.

But this isn't a life-or-death situation so no biggie.

Ah, I understand looking for the case now. Good call, since the discs could have become separated, and a location might be ambiguous.

I ended up running:

0808/7581 Romovi/Missing Bleak House DVD case/location now

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B2007MZVHdtwYWVlOGVmZTMtZmIyMC00M2QwLTliMGEtNzBhYjMzMWY2NDZi&hl=en&authkey=CP2t_rUE

Pages 9 and 10 are the S.T. and Summary, respectively.

Final verdict: It's gone dude....just let it go :D

Thanks Jburn and Aban!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very impressed with all of the work that you did! (It was years ago that I did R.V. Unfortunately, life took over. Sigh.)

Okay, well, it looks like I will have to buy the replacement copy. (I didn't even get to watch the film! Aagh.) I wouldn't even want to touch that DVD now! Ick!

Can threads that lead to useless practice please be removed? This is three in a row I've hit today with no credible feedback. :(

Have you ran any of my targets in this section? They all have credible feedback. Why you would run a target from someone with a total of 9 posts on the forum for all of 40 days is beyond me.

Well kosmo'ol'boy, I have run just about every target you've posted on this site--since you are competent in setting them up.
Unfortunately, from time to time, I take a break from the site, so I don't know who is credible or not... I'm just aware that there are some extremely good viewers on this site with roughly 9 posts. It's just misleading keeping pages like these open. It's assumed they would be closed since they serve no learning purpose. Oh well.. I suppose the stubborn donkey only eats fresh grass...

If you have run that many, then it is time to promote yourself to operational targets only then (assuming your structure is solid).

Having feedback is a crutch. For RV to be really useful, you need to be able to deduce things from your sessions before seeing feedback.

Operational targets are fine for me; however, given my current job, I just don't have the time to do operational targets and spend time finding if my feedback matches what I deduced from my work. This practice room is here for practice, my hobby in spare time. I just wish it were filtered easier. It serves no purpose having these rooms for beginners or the enthusiasts like myself. But thank you for your consideration :)
