Post S4 - number of descriptors
We know that the Learn RV protocol says that you should go no more than 2/3 of the page down because imagination will set in and corrupt the data.

Is that a function of time, length of the page, novelty, saturation or something else?

I ask because depending on how big someone writes, I have seen anywhere from 7 to 23 words on a S4.

In the "companion guide to the LRV training course" I counted the following:

S4[X] 15 words
S4[A] 30 words
S4[B] 31 words
S4[C] 28 words
S4[1] 15 words

If it is not the 2/3 page limit that is the holdup (or even if it is) could one draw a corrollary conclusion that a minimum of 15 descriptors and an average of 24 descriptors would be consistent with a well executed S4 instead of (or while still adhering to) the 2/3 page limit? (Meaning some people should write smaller?)

No. Time is the gauge.

Ok, excellent. Since it does take time to write down words I think we can estimate the total time an S4 should take and an average time to write words to come up with a target range number of words.

If a viewer consistently comes up short of the target range, it could be deduced that either they are taking too much time between words (more than 2 or 3 seconds each) and have lost signal line or they are not staying in S4 long enough.

Assuming that the example session in DVD1 was an actual session I have the total time recorded as:

S4[X] 15 entries - 1:08
S4[A] 30 entries - 1:43
S4[B] 31 entries - 1:58
S4[C] 28 entries - 1:31
S4[1] 15 entries - 1:03

Total time 7:23 for 119 entries or 3.723 seconds per entry

The average number of words per S4 is 24 which gives 1:29 per S4.
Now assume that there is :01 inbetween each word minimum up to :03 seconds maximum between words and you can add between :24 and 1:12 to the total time. Add another :01 to move the pen from column to column.

So the typical max time to spend on S4 should be around 3:05.

Good structure would dictate that for that 3 minutes you should have at least 15 entries and probably 20-30 words in the S4.

That seems reasonable, and could be another way for people to check their structure.

All I am attempting to do is to quantify the minimum number of entries an S4 that is executed correctly would have.

What if [X] is a stone, or brick?

Cease and desist!

I am not trying to draw a conclusion on an isolated singular target.
