 Dropping pen after AI's

Post Dropping pen after AI's
I had written on my notes after the Reno seminar that we are to drop our pens after an AI at stage 4. Do we do this? and if so, would someone tell me why it is that we do this?

You need to break away from the signal line to wait for any emotional 'charge' to dissipate before continuing, so as to remain objective.
